Coating Floors for Florida Coastal Conditions
Working in Pinellas means working with Florida’s toughest conditions for coatings.
- Heat and UV. West-facing garages near the Gulf take direct afternoon sun. Our polyaspartic clear coats are UV-stable, so the floor won’t yellow at the garage-door line.
- Humidity and slab moisture. High water tables and older slabs can push moisture vapor through concrete. We check for moisture problems before coating — it’s a leading cause of coating failure in this county.
- Salt air near the beaches. Homes in the beach communities deal with salt-laden air and sandy grit. A sealed, full-flake floor is far easier to keep clean than porous bare concrete.
- Rainy season. Summer downpours mean wet tires and drip-off in the garage. Coated floors won’t absorb it, and the flake texture keeps grip underfoot.
