Polyaspartic vs. Epoxy vs. Polyurea
These often get lumped together, but they do different jobs. Epoxy is the high-adhesion base that grips ground concrete. Polyurea and polyaspartic are related fast-curing topcoat chemistries; polyaspartic is the UV-stable version that won’t yellow in sun. Our standard build uses epoxy for the bond and polyaspartic for the clear coat, so you get the strengths of each instead of the compromise of a single-product floor.
Cure Time and Return to Service
Polyaspartic’s biggest practical advantage is speed. Because it cures far faster than traditional epoxy clears, most floors are walk-ready within about 24 hours and ready for vehicles in 48–72 hours — often letting us finish a garage in a single day. It also stays flexible enough to move with a slab that expands and contracts through Florida’s temperature swings.
Is Polyaspartic Worth It?
For a Florida garage, the UV stability alone usually justifies it — an epoxy-only floor near an open garage door will amber over time, while a polyaspartic clear stays clear. Paired with a proper epoxy base and full flake, it’s the system we’d put in our own garages.

Will a polyaspartic floor be slippery?
The full-flake texture adds natural grip, and we can add anti-slip aggregate to the topcoat for wet areas like pool decks or a door that catches rain.
